I'm not gonna lie. I kinda like the PS3 graphics for Ryuk. Yes the CGI is worst in the 2006 one but it really does feel like a 3D model of a 2d character. Another is not divisive at all, its mostly well received. Theres nothing wrong with it being bloody nor it takes from the mystery and its one cour, it makes sense that eventually the mysteries all get solved, they werent meant to last forever, and the twist got tons of small clues to lead to her beforehand, so saying theres no clues to the mystery then calling it dumb because you didnt get it, cringe to make a video to complain that you failed to understand it, and the beach episode was a "last peace before the bloodshed" and the climax is the escalation, both work brillantly to the pacing, it would only disappoint people with a very strict taste. But you name your video as a "theory" and clickbaited it as such, yet the video was just a generic review, theres no theory at all there, "explaining" why you assumed a show is divisive aint a theory.

Something worth noting is that in the novel L: Change The World, L comes into possession of two death notes and he destroys one of them and gives the other one back to Ryuk. L only uses the death note once: to write his own name in it and proceeds to run around with two fake copies that has everyone convinced that he has the real death notes with him. So I think the more likely theory would be that he would destroy the death note if he ever came in possession of it without trying it.

I see this series as a bad series that is fun to watch. Basically, a couple too many weird plot things, Yuno being too much, and Yuki being kind of annoying keeps me from putting this in my list of 'good' series, but the premise and craziness are fun enough to make it worth watching anyways. The opening on the other hand is probably one of my favorite anime openings due to essentially containing the entire plot hidden in the visuals and due to just being a good song. Certainly no hate though to anyone who legit considers it a good show though. I like plenty of stuff other people would say is bad, so not trying to start any fights.

I’m not sure if I noticed my first time watching Death Note or not, but upon my recent second watching of Death Note, I noticed the first time Near’s Theme played that it sounded to my ear like it was a callback to L’s theme. My brain immediately was like, “This piece is brand new! Wait, does this theme represent Near? that really cool track from the first story arc a theme specifically a representation of L? Do other characters have themes?” Now I’m watching the show again and listening more closely.

I think Light's loss makes sense. Light did not lose to Near. He lost to Near, Mello, Matt, a shinigami, Mikami's mistakes, his own allies turning him in and his ego. L was way smarter but he didn't know the DN existed, and even without the information Near had access to, he could approach Light as he did, from the very beginning. Near knew the DN existed, a fucking shinigami all of a sudden decided to tell the truth about the fake rules to Mello, Mikami made a huge mistake and Light underestimated Near, not thinking he would even consider the existance of a fake death note, he would've prepare a different stragedy with L, but he didn't take Near seriously due to his enormous ego. The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is Near finding out Mikami was X-Kira just by watching TV lol

ALERT SPOILERS: The thing is that that year was very different from others because of the way the calamity acted. First of all, in this case the added one wasn't a student as usual. Secondly, since they all went dumb after hearing the tape, they just killed themselves, thus the calamity had no mercy. Remember 15 years ago there were three deaths in one day (counting the dead one, killed by Matsunaga), so it wouldn't be the first time the calamity overpassed his limits (about killing one person per month). Finally, the parts are really synchronized: You don't know what is that calamity until he shows some episodes later its true power. I think the manga and anime could have been longer to have more insight about the background or even the characters, but it's already fine like that. Btw the beach episode (nº8) was just to get to know a little bit better the characters. This episode doesn't take place in the manga, so it's actually fanservice.
